Qatar Announces $576 Million Worth of Public Works Projects

Dubai, UAE : 24 May 2010

Qatar has announced that it is about to sink $576 million into a series of public works projects as significant investment in its infrastructure continues.

The work, which had been subject to tender, is being completed by a number of companies and totals five projects.  They include major sewerage works, expansion of Al-Rawais port and the renewal of Qatar Radio and Television Corporation Complex.

Qatar’s Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced the contracts at a signing ceremony attended by representatives of the contractors.  The work will begin in June and the completion target date is 2026.
