Over 75 Percent of UAE Business Leaders Expect Growth For 2011

UAE : 05 January 2011

Global survey reports that local leaders in business are staunchly bullish when it comes to expectations for 2011.

Leaders in UAE businesses sit firmly in the bullish and optimistic camp when considering 2011 expectations for business. Over 75 percent of business leaders expect growth for this year.

Accounting group Grant Thornton conducted a survey which found that the confidence levels in UAE business are on the level with those in quickly expanding economies such as Germany, Brazil and India. Those economies showed 75 percent or more were confident in terms of growth.

This survey, conducted annually by Thornton and titled the International Business Report, includes 11,000 private industry medium to large-sized business owners covering 39 nations. The recent issue finds Chile in the number one spot in terms of optimism, as 95 percent of those who responded there expect growth in 2011.

On the other side of the spectrum, leaders in Japanese businesses, as well as those in southern Europe, are the least optimistic about 2011.

In terms of regions, Latin America is at the top mainly due to Brazil where growth of almost 8 percent is expected for 2011.
