Middle East : 15 March

Yesterday saw the launch of the Dubai International Advertising Festival
which is running from the 14th to the 16th of March and is being held at The Palladium, in Dubai City.

The Dubai International Advertising Festival is now in its third year and is a festival that combines advertising expertise from the Middle East, North Africa and the rest of the world. The festival was launched yesterday evening with a screening of Art & Copy a revealing documentary about the advertising world by Doug Pray. Today The learning Programme is just getting underway.

The Learning Programme includes seminars and workshops over the next two days. This will include exhibitions and films to encourage creative inspiration and learning for the advertising and other closely linked industries. Included in the festival is an exhibition of creative advertising winning pieces displays from the Cannes Lions festival of 2009, the Eurobest 2009 and the Dubai Lynx Shortlist exhibits.

Among those due to speak today is Mark Tutssel who is renowned for being one of the most celebrated creative directors in the advertising industry and is responsible for the work of Leo Burnett Worldwide. Mark Tutssel has won countless awards for his work including the Cannes Grand Prix and 40 Cannes Lions awards. He has also chaired many award events such as Eurobest, the YoungGuns International Awards, ADDY Awards, Sharks International Advertising Awards and Spikes Asia.
