New Mobile Operator in Bahrain

A new company named “Viva Bahrain” has been launched by the Saudi Telecom Company (STC), to become the third mobile operator in Bahrain.

Muhammad Al-Jasser, Chairman of STC said the launching of the Saudi company signifies excellent relationship between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Chief Executive Officer of the STC, Saud Al-Dawees said that the company is serving more than 100 million customers throughout the world. Bahrain has become the tenth country in which STC is presently operating. Other countries in which STC is operating include Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, South Africa, Turkey, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. Number of STC’s customers has already crossed 21 million mark in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the mobile operator is expanding its operations to new regions. Moody’s Investor’s Services and Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services have started rating the company and  the rating provide the company, exposure to the global market as well as enhances confidence of its overseas business associates, investors and stakeholders.

STC has been rated with ‘A+’ long term and A-1 short term foreign currency corporate credit ratings by Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s Investor’s Services rated the company with A1 local and foreign currency issuer. STC is among the top five rated telecoms companies throughout the world and the first regional company to attain this rating, he added.

STC is a giant in telecommunications world and the largest telecommunications company in the Middle East. Bahrain is another feather in the company’s cap. Bahrain will certainly benefit from STC’s high quality products as well as advanced communications technologies, Al-Daweesh said.

Chief Executive Officer of Viva Bahrain, Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar said that market services of top quality at the best prices will be offered to customers enabling them to take advantage from numerous facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain has appreciated Kingdom’s role in expanding Bahrain’s communication sector.
