New Dubai Airport Opens 2011

Dubai, UAE : 03 June 2010

The new airport for Dubai, Al Maktoum International, is planning to welcome its first flights in March 2011.

The airport, which will host five runways and process an estimated 160 million passengers every year, is expected to be the biggest airport in the world by the time of its completion.

A spokesman for Dubai World Central, who are running the mega development, said the airport would begin the ‘operational readiness process’ towards the end of this year with the intention of landing the first passenger planes towards the end of March 2011.
