Microsoft and Nokia Launch Free Employee Communication Software

Middle East : 06 May 2010

A new collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft has produced an innovative communications software system that can be attached to a company network and can be easily transported as a mobile unit.

The two firms began working together on this project last August and combined their design, development and marketing teams to come up with the new concept. The first product they produced is the Microsoft Communicator Mobile for Nokia devices that allows users to view others users statuses and to talk to them using IM, SMS or a voice call or they can also communicate with each other by email. By using a contact card details such as contact numbers or email addresses are stored automatically and they can then be contacted instantly at the touch of a button.

The General Manager of Microsoft stated that they hope this new product will be taken up by people already using Nokia smartphones and that business people will be able to increase their administrative and management efficiency capabilities immensely. At present the product is available for a Nokia E72 and the Nokia E52. The two companies already have plan to increase the usage to other mobile devices such as the E5 model and are also hoping to be able to pre-install it in devices such as smartphone devices they are currently working on. Nokia and Microsoft are one of the top employers in the Middle East who drive innovation and always look for talented individuals.
