Interior Design Industry Valued at $22 Billion in the GCC

Middle East : 10 September 2010

Interior design contracts in the GCC from last year to today are estimated at $22 billion (Dh 80 billion) in total.  In the UAE the projected demand for these services in the current year should hit around $14.6 billion, according to a report.

A spokesperson for the Middle East design event Index 2010 noted that the region is ripe and offers plenty of export opportunities for global businesses who may have suffered in the global financial crisis.  Index 2010 is held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 8 to 11 and attracts the leading designers from around the globe and the top brands in the business.

After being held for 20 years, Index is highly recognized and earned a top place on the worldwide design show stage

At last year’s event over 1,000 participants representing more than 50 nations exhibited their best and the brightest global trends could be seen.

Each project is completely unique, being designed and hand cast to the individual specs.

Index’s Event Director Lu Buchanan noted that the 2010 show is a true celebration displaying the leading products and services in the global design industry.
