Shah gas field construction project worth 1.1 billion Dirham has been awarded to the Al Jaber Group by Abu Dhabi and ConocoPhillips.
It was reported last week that to develop the sour gas field, the joint venture was considering to award about 36.7 billion Dirham contracts in the first half of the current year. The parties are expected to sign the contract very soon.
Al Jaber is the privately owned Group that will build the project’s infrastructure including its gas treatment plants and roads.
State-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) expects initial production from the joint venture by late 2013 or early 2014.
