If you ever fancied your chances of being a Formula 1 champion driver then a new initiative just being launched by the UAE’s new Formula Gulf 1000 single-seater championship could be just the route.
This new programme will allow young, talented drivers to build on their talent and initiative by affording them the opportunity to gain experience of the European and Asian racing championships.
To be eligible drivers must be aged between 15 and 25 and available to work with European professional coaches during the 2010/11 racing season at the Dubai Autodrome and the Yas Marina Circuit.
Barry Hope is the Director of Racing at Gulfsport and he stated that there has now been $11 billion spent on the motor racing infrastructure and this combined with eight F1 events has really stimulated interest in Formula 1 racing and there will also be huge interest in this search for a local driver who could go all the way if he has the talent, ability and drive to succeed.
The new single seater Formula Gulf 1000 racing car has been built and designed by the synonymous racing-car designer Ralph Firman Racing. The car meets all FIA safety standards and will give the driver the total experience necessary for an international competition.Paul Holdsworth, Staff Writer, Gulf Jobs Market News
