New collection of Ramadan applications to be found in Ovi website
Now downloadable from Nokia’s Ovi webstore, the newest mobile Ramadan apps by Nokia observe the holy celebrations.
Created and enhanced for introduction in 2010, the apps were under review and approved by the mosque and Islamic university at Al Azhar Al Shareef. Development went through Nokia Premium Partner ASGATech.
There are many things to be found in the apps, including the Quran and Qibla direction for a list of one thousand cities. Prayer timings are included as well as Hadith application, Boyoot Allah to find a nearby mosque using an Ovi map and services to assist Muslims who do not speak Arabic with understanding the teachings related to Ramadan. Multimedia mobile guides for Makkah and Madinah are included as well as Mozzaker apps to scroll through, download, translate and share religious information and prayer.
Nokia commented that the strong consumer response over 2009’s downloadable apps pushed them to make the enhancements and new introductions. There were over a million downloads last year and with the expanded languages available, as well as the versatility of being used with a wide range of mobile devices, this year’s apps available from Nokia should continue to help Muslims stay connected to Ramadan.
Head of Nokia Lower Gulf’s marketing Karim Moussa also reiterated Nokia’s commitment to the Muslim population worldwide and to local businesses and Ramadan celebrations. Nokia offers Ramadan apps free for 2010 and has incorporated both local and global content usable for a vast selection of mobile devices.Andrew Reid, Staff Writer, Gulf Jobs Market News
