Middle East : 30 March 2010

Vision 2030 will improve the lives of all Bahrainis according to comments being made at the Cisco Networkers Bahrain 2010 conference currently underway. These comments were made by Kamel Ahmed who is the Chief Operating Officer of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and he believes that the ICT industry is not just an independently significant sector but also actually impacts growth in most other sectors most notably continued competitiveness and new innovation.

The aim of the conference is to discuss new and continued methods of driving economic growth through new innovation and increased competitiveness across the board in Bahrain. He also reinforces the need in the country for continued improvements and advancement in the areas of further training and future skill development.

This led on to the outlining of Vision 2030 which is a strategic and well put together plan for the future of Bahrain in the ICT sector. Mr Kamel Ahmed firmly believes this is the way forward for the region. Vision 2030 will create greater opportunities for all of the people of Bahrain through continued private sector growth, increased diversification of the economy and these factors combined will help elevate the economy and provide a better standard of living for all.

The philosophy indicates that Knowledge is Power and Mr. Kamel Ahmed believes that ICT is the key to Bahrain’s future success. He says the country have a young, intelligent workforce who are enthusiastic and want to implement new technologies within new industries.
