Asus aims to crack the Middle East PC Market

Middle East : 11 March 2010

At present HP, Acer and Dell are the primary suppliers of PC and Information Technology products to the Middle Eastern market. However a Taiwanese manufacturer known as Asus is soon hoping to gain a large share of this lucrative market.

At present Asus believe they are about the sixth largest supplier of PC products to the Middle East but now feel that there are many opportunities to rapidly increase their market share over the next few years.

Jonney Shih is presently the Managing Director of Asus and during the week he spent some time in the Middle East office where he briefed staff on his plans to increase  supply substantially in this market.

Shih said he felt the Middle East market was not being marketed aggressively enough and that there was no reason why they couldn’t aspire to being in the top three companies supplying PC products to the Middle East and African market.

His strategy for moving the company forward includes tapping into the current expansion of the market, being more innovative and effective, adopting stronger Markeing and Public Relations strategies and getting Asus out there more as a recognized brand name.

Asus are planning to immediately increase their market share which they hope will have reached the top four by the end of 2010 and to the top three by December 2011.
