Abu Dhabi Airport Shows Promising Growth

Abu Dhabi Airport have just released figures for the month of February 2010 and they show a promising increase in airport traffic and, statistics also indicate that passenger levels are up by over 17% when compared to the same period last year.

The number of airplanes that have passed through the airport are also up by over 13% and the actual tonnage has risen by over 17% compared to the same period of February 2009. The overall figures for the year to date also show a healthy increase of just over 14%.

The most popular travel destination was Bangkok with London coming in at second and the city of Doha coming in at third place. Manila and Bahrain were next on the list and these five destinations totaled to over one fifth of the airports total business for the month.

It is hoped to further enhance and develop the airports facilities and flight schedule this during 2010 and according to Abu Dhabi Inernational airports CEO there will be many measures adopted this year to ensure a larger flight schedule to accommodate the larger amount of tourists and business people who pass through the airports doors every day.
